I haven’t updated in a while–but don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about this site. I have been juggling two writing projects this year, though that wasn’t my original plan. My hope originally was to get through the second Ghost book right away, but I’ve been struggling with it. There’s a lot going on in that story, and I seem to get second thoughts on nearly every plot point. I know I shouldn’t sweat the details during a first draft, but… Well, I do.
The other project I’ve worked on a bit is playing with an idea I might have mentioned here at one point. It’s a virtual reality story, but one that will approach the concept from a different angle. (At least, that is my intention.) I feel a lot less pressure for this one, so maybe I can whip up a draft for that more quickly. Wouldn’t that be nice? It’s working title is Nothing to Fear.
I do intend to get back to Healing Stories at some point too. I’ll try to get at least a couple more of those up this year, but we’ll see.
At any rate, a bunch of real-life things have been dealt with the past few months. I am now living in Japan again, and starting to get settled in a routine there. I will be juggling my writing time with Japanese study time (among other things), but I should be able to make things work.
As a present, here is a set of sketches hachikuro drew for the second Ghost book. Who are these three new characters? They are triplets! Naoki will meet them at some point, but I won’t give away anything further.
