How is everyone’s new year coming along? If you set yourself some goals for the year, the end of January is a good time to check on how things are going.
For 2014, perhaps my biggest goal was to release a novel online, which I’m glad to say I managed once I’m (Sort of) an Expert on Ghosts was published as a free ebook for Halloween. I had written many novels in previous years, but this was the first time I decided to put in the extra effort to fully polish the story and release it publicly. If nothing else, the process I went through was a good learning experience.
This year for 2015, I would like to finish three creative projects. Not necessarily all novels, but at least one of them will be. As for the other two, one will likely be a collection of short stories, and the other will be a secret for now (or rather, it’s up in the air what project I will tackle).
My focus at this time is on a novel I’ve been meaning to write for a few years now (working title Four Nights a Day). I wrote a little bit of it a long time ago, but decided to set it aside for when I felt I had a better grasp of what I wanted to accomplish with the story. At the moment I’m wrapping up chapter 18 of 30, so it’s been coming along nicely this past month. My goal is to finish the first draft by the end of February. I think that should be manageable…
That’s all for now! I’ll try to find fun things to post in the months to come.
